Nurturing Children Through the Transition of Divorce
Divorce is a painful and confusing experience for all children. Even the most caring parents will find it difficult to focus on their children’s needs during such a traumatic time. Research indicates that the manner in which parents handle divorce can have a direct effect on children’s adjustment, and that it is possible for parents to reduce some of the pain and confusion through good parenting skills.
For Kids’ Sake seminars can help parents get in touch with their children’s needs, providing the knowledge and skills to safely nurture their children through this process. It will also provide an opportunity for parents to practice effective parenting skills.
The four-hour seminar is an interactive group educational model led by skilled facilitators. It does not address personal or legal issues; nor is it a counseling experience. The overwhelming majority of parents who have participated in this type of seminar feel that it is a very supportive and worthwhile experience.
