Krist Samaritan Center supporters turned out en masse for our organization's annual gala and signature fundraising event, A Samaritan Celebration, at River Oaks Country Club on Tuesday, November 1, 2011.
As part of the evening’s celebration, The Samaritan Spirit Award was presented to individuals and organizations for their significant contributions to human health and growth. Honored this year were philanthropist Margaret Alkek Williams, corporate champion Southwest Airlines and authors Ron Hall and Denver Moore of “Same Kind of Different As Me”.
The event also included a live auction and an extensive silent auction where gala attendees had the opportunity to bid on a number items, including an autographed guitar from Grammy-award-winner Taylor Swift, a stunning jewelry piece from Valobra Jewelry and Antiques, a tantalizing 12-course progressive dinner at 2727 Kirby and a three-night La Petite package from Cal-a-Vie, an exclusive destination spa resort located among 200-acres of lush, green hills in sunny San Diego.
With the generous support of 340 attendees, more than $300,000 was
raised for
Krist Samaritan Center’s Counseling Assistance Fund, a fund that
provides
counseling to those in need on a sliding fee scale.
Thank you to all who attended A Samaritan Celebration 2011. Your
continued
support is invaluable to us and our work at the Center and
we are truly grateful
for your friendship.
Special thanks to everyone who planned and worked behind the scenes
to make the
event a success—we couldn’t have done it without you.
