Caring for People

Look on my right and see, there is no one to befriend me. All help is denied me, no one cares about me.
- Psalm 142:4

I thank God for putting into Titus’ heart the same concern for you that I have myself.
- 2 Corinthians 8:16

Just as in the early Church, so today God’s daughters and sons occasionally experience life’s challenges with inadequate support. And the Church at its best — both then and now — strives to respond to human anguish with caring ministry grounded in God’s unbounded compassion.

Krist Samaritan Center's workshops support the Church’s mission by equipping clergy and laypersons to provide this congregational care ministry to persons in need. We believe the training of clergy and laypersons must be ongoing because congregational care (or pastoral care) is an art and not a simple method which can be memorized. To meet its biblical mandate, the Church must have caregivers with enhanced skills, deeper knowledge, and solidified identities — all of which require life-long learning.

A variety of workshops are available to assist you in your commitment to serve with increased effectiveness and confidence. We invite you to explore the option appropriate for your needs.
