Lay Ministry Training Program
From hospital visits to spontaneous encounters in the elevator, this program will train participants what it means to help those who are hurting — by truly listening. The program will consist of weekly meetings for 10 to 12 weeks, and will be led by congregational care consultants the Rev. Theodore M. Smith, D.Min. and Denice S. Foose, M.A.P.S., M.B.A.
Our transformative study will help train individuals how to become effective lay ministers. Allowing participants to gain knowledge and confidence in their ministry, attending the program also benefits the close relationships in each attendee’s life — as listening skills are cultivated. All in all, if you would like to make a decisive contribution to life of your church and to the lives of many hurting individuals, our Lay Ministry Training Program is the right fit for you.
The program will consist of:
- Submission of reports based upon visits with parishioners
- Study of grief theory
- Cultivation of an identify as a lay minister and more
