Krist Samaritan Center Receives Grant from The Simmons Foundation
Krist Samaritan Center recently received a generous donation of $15,000 from the Simmons Foundation to support the Center’s Counseling Assistance Fund. Based on a sliding-fee scale, the Counseling Assistance Fund provides professional counseling services to children, adults, couples and families in need of guidance and healing.
With The Simmons Foundation’s charitable donation, the Krist Samaritan Center will receive much-needed support to provide affordable mental health care to individuals and families in the Houston and Galveston area. This year’s donation of $15,000 is $5,000 higher than last year’s grant.
“We truly appreciate the support The Simmons Foundation has given us over the years,” said Dr. Gerald DeSobe, Krist Samaritan Center executive director. “These funds are essential to providing our clients with the quality mental health care and counseling they truly need.”
Founded in 1993, The Simmons Foundation funds organizations that care for those whose resources are limited, helping them lead productive, fulfilling and responsible lives with dignity and respect. The Foundation’s primary interests are education, health and human services. Since its inception, The Simmons Foundation has funded $11,870,068 in grants, predominately in Harris and surrounding counties in Texas.
