In Support of Krist Samaritan
Houston Endowment Makes Second Substantial Donation to Counseling and Mental Health Center

Krist Samaritan Center for Counseling and Education will receive a generous donation of $75,000 from the Houston Endowment, Inc. as part of a grant to support the Center’s psychological testing services.

Last year, with Houston Endowment’s generous charitable donation, the Krist Samaritan Center was able to expand their psychological testing services by creating MindWorks Testing. The testing center provides a wide range of psychological tests which can be administered to individuals or groups. These include personality assessments, IQ/achievement tests, depression screens and learning disability tests. MindWorks Testing is staffed by Krist Samaritan’s experienced psychologists and counselors, who can help interpret and apply the results of the various tests.

With the 2010 grant from the Houston Endowment, the Krist Samaritan Center can expand MindWorks Testing and continue to offer its services to the local Houston community.

“We saw a trend?a need for psychological testing,” said Dr. Gerald DeSobe, executive director of the Krist Samaritan Center. “With MindWorks, we have been able to streamline the testing process, while also making it more readily available for children and adults. And we’ve touched so many people’s lives because of what they have learned or experienced.”
