The Krist Samaritan Center for Counseling and Education is proud to announce the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors. New members include James Alfini, former president and dean of the South Texas College of Law; Diane Kingshill, realtor for Martha Turner Properties; and Jim Ramsey, upstream global development manager for ExxonMobil.

“All three of the individuals that have joined our board are outstanding members of the Houston community,” said Dr. Jerry DeSobe, executive director of the Krist Samaritan Center. “We are honored that they are drawn to our mission as a counseling center, and want to be an integral part of our organization now and into the future.”

James Alfini was the president and dean of the South Texas College of Law for more than five years. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Institute for Sustainable Peace, the Institute for Conflict Transformation and the Resolution Systems Institute. He received his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University in 1965 and received his doctorate in jurisprudence from Northwestern University in 1972. Alfini’s familiarity with the law and conflict resolution gives the Board a knowledgeable resource.

Diane Kingshill specializes in residential real estate sales for Martha Turner Properties. Her community involvements include the American Diabetes Association, the Minnie Pearl Foundation in Nashville and the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. With a large network of friends and colleagues and an eye for detail, Kingshill brings great experience and an open heart to the Board.

Jim Ramsey has been with ExxonMobil for more than 28 years, serving in several positions, and most recently as the Upstream Global Development Manager. He is very involved within the Houston community and gives his time freely to causes he truly believes in. Ramsey’s financial management experience and personal life experiences will make him an asset to the Center’s Board of Directors.

The Carole and Ronald Krist Samaritan Center for Counseling and Education is a not-for-profit, faith-based organization committed to providing affordable counseling services and educational programs to people of all economic backgrounds, as well as training for church and mental health professionals. Founded in 1986, the Center is accredited as a service center and training program by the American Association of Pastoral Counselors and the Samaritan Institute. The Center has served more than 33,000 families and has 21 office locations throughout the Houston and Galveston area.
