The Krist Samaritan Center for Counseling and Education welcomes Jason Martin and Suzanne Counts to their team of talented counseling professionals. Martin and Counts will be a part of the clinical staff at the Center, and will both provide counseling for individuals and families. Martin will also facilitate parenting and human development workshops.
Martin brings a wealth of knowledge to the Krist Samaritan Center, as well as a passion for helping the lives of the families he counsels. A double-major graduate of Abilene Christian University in 2002, Martin received a doctorate in family and child ecology from Michigan State University. He has worked in the adult internal medicine department at Family Therapy Connections in Lansing, Michigan, and is a clinical member of the American and Texas Associations of Marriage and Family Therapists.
Counts, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), is a native Houstonian who graduated from the University of St. Thomas and obtained a master’s degree in psychology from Houston Baptist University. She has worked as a training specialist at Covenant Technology Services for five years and participates in the American Psychological and Counseling Associations. Counts has a fascination with the field of psychology and thrives on enriching the lives of others, making her a valuable addition to the Krist Samaritan Center.
“I am so pleased to have Jason and Suzanne join the Samaritan Center family,” said Dr. Gerald DeSobe, executive director of Krist Samaritan Center. “Jason has an extensive background that I am assured will bring success and growth to our organization and the lives of those clients that we treat at the Center.”
In regards to Counts, DeSobe says, “Suzanne’s dedication to her field is demonstrated in her hard work. It gives her pleasure just to be able to help those around her, and the compassion she shows her peers is what will make her an integral part of our team.”
