| The Krist Samaritan Center has a long history of preparing clinicians and enhancing the skills of clergy in the ministry of counseling and pastoral care. We are a faith-based program focusing on the development of well defined theoretical foundations to understand working with people in need.
Krist Samaritan Center offers three different programs:
Residency
Individuals having completed a graduate degree in a counseling discipline may seek clinical supervision in order to complete their licensure requirements. Our clinical supervisors are all approved by a state licensing board (psychologists, professional counselors, marriage and family therapists, and clinical social workers available).
The Krist Samaritan Center trains participants to consolidate and refine their present theory while growing in experience. They have the unique experience of understanding counseling through a faith perspective, and are trained to integrate theological insights into their work. Participants will sharpen their skills in the practice of different clinical modalities, including working with children, adults and families. Graduates have excellent clinical skills, can articulate their theory of care and are ready for licensure.
Counseling Residency Form
Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary Doctor of Ministry
Individuals with a seminary degree may pursue studies toward completion of a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Pastoral Counseling and Psychotherapy. This degree, plus completion of the required hours of supervision, will complete the requirements for the Professional Counselor license in Texas.
